Ascaso i-Steel (i-1) Flat Burr Grinder WHITE
Ascaso i-Steel Doserless Flat Burr Grinder (i-1) - Don't underestimate the Ascaso i-Steel because of its size. This grinder is not only has Ascaso's characteristic beauty but also serves as an exceptional espresso grinder. This version of the iSteel is an iI-1 which means it has 54mm flat burrs. It is a doserless grinder so you can grind directly into the portafilter.
The Ascaso i-Steel stainless steel grinders are the only grinders currently available that have a Micrometric Regulation System (MRS) to control the quality and consistency of the grinds. This system allows for unmatched, precise adjustments to the grind setting, which is critical for espresso grinding. You can grind coffee for drip, French press, Turkish, and espresso. If you have an espresso machine, you will enjoy. The i-1 is a Flat burr version and the i-2 is a Conicial cone version. Small in size but not in grinding power.
Ascaso equipped the I-Steel grinder with the same serious heavy-duty conical burrs found on its big brother, the i-2. The I-Steel's burrs are harder and more defined, with a tooth pattern that is incredibly precise and intricate. The resulting grind quality from Ascaso I-Steel is absolutely amazing and consistent. In addition, the Ascaso's burr set is simple to clean, making this often overlooked yet important task a breeze rather than a chore. To clean, just remove the coffee bean hopper and cover to expose the grinding chamber, which takes about 30 seconds. You can perform a thorough cleaning to remove built up coffee grounds around the lower burr and then reassemble the grinder - total time is about 2 minutes.
On the side of the grinder there is a button that you can control the main power. Just under the coffee dispensing chute, another spring-loaded manual on/off button is present, and when pressed, the grinder will start, then immediately turn off when the button is released. Place the coffee holder (or any storage container) against the button to start grinding and then remove the coffee holder when the desired amount of coffee has been dispensed.
The grinders feature a coffee chute which funnels the freshly ground coffee from the grinding chamber directly into a coffee holder for your espresso machine or into a coffee filter, or even a storage container.
One important and often overlooked task required of owning a good coffee grinder is routine cleaning. To clean, just remove the coffee bean hopper and cover to expose the grinding chamber, which takes about 30 seconds. You can perform a thorough cleaning to remove built up coffee grounds around the main cutting wheel and then reassemble the grinder- total time is about 2 minutes.
